Member's Only - Annual Event
Mystery Run
August 27, 2006

Our Mystery Run starts and ends by members/guests trying
to solve the 'mystery' of where we are going.

It's a day-long trip, with tons of fun and games!

The day started out rainy at Northridge High School
and 15 cars lined up to brave the elements for the run.

We had a nice brunch at Schmitz’s in Loveland,
followed by another run up into the cool climate of the Rocky Mountains.

We played a game of license plate trivia and car trivia during the drive.
At each stop we also played dart board “golf”
with some unusual scoring chances.

Our tracks took us out of Loveland past Carter Lake
and down over to Hygiene, CO.  From there, we made our way up to Ward, CO
by way of Left-hand Canyon Road, which is a beautiful, winding road
with which to enjoy those Corvettes.

Ward offered us the finest mountain outhouses you’ll ever use.
One had a wonderful view of the mountain scenery as you stood there…men only!!

We made our way across the mountains over to Estes Park to Fun City,
where checked our trivia sheets and handed out prizes for those efforts.
The gang wanted more give-aways so we raffled off additional prizes and money
(you knew we would).

Donna Ecker won the trivia contest with an unbelievable perfect score of 21
and claimed a set of Americana folding chairs
(the Pres said that she also won the right to sponsor the Mystery Run next year).

Sam & Earl Huet won a set of California car dusters for their expert golfing effort
with the best score of the day.

Teresa Stieb was the big loser at golf and took home a Corvette tote bag
and a Corvette mug.

There were four VetteFest bags filled with candy and Corvette cookies raffled off.
Four other lucky tickets were awarded money collected from golfing “mulligans”.

Everyone enjoyed the run, the games, and the prizes.
Afterwards, we made our way down the pass and stopped in at the Dairy Delight
in Loveland to enjoy ice cream and good conversation.

A big "THANK YOU" goes out to Pat & Cheryl Darnell
for doing such another great job!

Come, Join the Fun - in 2007!
