Ladies Day Out - "Mend a Heart"

There were 10 members and 2 guests that gathered at Judy's house
to begin the day with
coffee, tea, juice and assorted pastries.

Some filled gift bags with candy, pencils, stuffed animals,
candy, bubbles, coloring books, crayons, candy, cars, cups,
fun straws, and numerous other things, (did I mention candy?),
while other CW women cut and pasted our "Mutts About You" Valentines,
which went into the gift bags to identify our Club.

We made bags for 16 children at the hospital and about 20 for Kenton Nursing Home residents.  And, the gift bags turned out so cute!
These CW ladies are loaded with talent!

Although, we were not allowed to go in some of the hospital rooms,
because the children were in isolation, it was so heartwarming to see the other children!
Many parents seemed very grateful for a little "break" in the action.
Nothing tugs at a woman's heartstrings more than seeing an ill child.

The residents at Kenton were at lunch when we got there,
but the nurses agreed they would be so thrilled with our Valentine gifts.

After we delivered our goodies, we went to lunch at Fat Albert's,
where we spent some quality time getting to know each other
and enjoyed some great food.

All in all, it turned out to be a great time for "Mending Hearts!"

I think we all came away feeling good about
what we did to make these children and the elderly feel a little special for one day.
